The Workshop Day of the Democracy Conference 2022 is an invite-only pre-event. Only representatives of organizations working on developing or researching democracy are invited to this day, to make sure that a high-level exchange of ideas and practices can take place. The participants will have different backgrounds and therefore we will be looking into some specific countries: Estonia, Finland, Norway and the United States, but also the wider European Union and other democracies from around the globe.
The goal of the Workshop Day is to map common problems with our democratic systems, share good practices of development and find ways of collaborating in the future.
There will be no presentations on the Workshop Day, only facilitated interactive sessions meant to create interesting discussions and find new ideas for collaboration.

Getting to know the participants
Each participating organization will get to introduce themselves and their approach to democracy development. Everyone else will be able to ask questions directly and engage in discussion around the different approaches.

Mapping of the common problems facing democracies today
What are we up against as democracies? What are the most fundamental issues that need attention by those who are worried about the decline of democracy in the world.

As we have many interesting organizations present, we will be learning a lot from each other, to make sure that the best ideas would be implemented as widely as possible.
